1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to mediation services; providing for duties of the commissioner;
1.3clarifying receipts;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 179.02, by
1.4adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 179.02, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8    Subd. 6. Receipt of gifts, money; appropriation. (a) The commissioner may apply
1.9for, accept, and disburse gifts, bequests, grants, or payments for services from the United
1.10States, the state, private foundations, or any other source.
1.11(b) Money received by the commissioner under this subdivision must be deposited in
1.12a separate account in the state treasury and invested by the State Board of Investment. The
1.13amount deposited, including investment earnings, is appropriated to the commissioner
1.14to carry out duties of the commissioner.
1.15EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
