1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to health occupations; modifying the definition of a certified doula;
1.3amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 148.995, subdivision 2.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 148.995, subdivision 2, is amended to read:
1.6    Subd. 2. Certified doula. "Certified doula" means an individual who has received
1.7a certification to perform doula services from the International Childbirth Education
1.8Association, the Doulas of North America (DONA), the Association of Labor Assistants
1.9and Childbirth Educators (ALACE), the Birthworks, the Childbirth and Postpartum
1.10Professional Association (CAPPA), the Childbirth International, or the International
1.11Center for Traditional Childbearing, or the Birth Place/Common Childbirth, Inc.
