A bill to amend 1941 PA 359, entitled
"An act for controlling and eradicating certain noxious weeds
within the state; to permit townships, villages, and cities to have
a lien for expenses incurred in controlling and eradicating such
weeds; to permit officials of counties and municipalities to
appoint commissioners of noxious weeds; to define the powers,
duties, and compensation of commissioners; to provide for
sanctions; and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts,"
by amending section 2 (MCL 247.62).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
2. For the purpose of this act, "noxious weeds" shall
include
includes Canada thistle (Circium Cirsium arvense),
dodders
(any species of Cuscuta), mustards (charlock, black mustard, and
Indian mustard, species of Brassica or Sinapis), wild carrot
(Daucus carota), bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis), perennial
sowthistle (Sonchus arvensis), hoary alyssum (Berteroa incana),
giant
hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum), ragweed
(ambrosia
Ambrosia
elatior l.), and
poison ivy (rhus Rhus toxicodendron),
poison
sumac (toxicodendron Toxicodendron
vernix), or other plant
which in the opinion of the governing body of any county, city,
township,
or village , coming under the provisions of this act is
regarded as a common nuisance.
