A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled
"Revised judicature act of 1961,"
(MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 2980.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 2980. A physician is not liable
for civil damages that result from the physician's provision of or failure to
provide a written verification that an individual who is under the physician's
care is unable, for physical or medical reasons, to do 1 or more of the
following:
(a)
Wear a safety belt, as described in section 710e of the Michigan vehicle code,
1949 PA 300, MCL 257.710e.
(b)
Wear a helmet, as described in section 81133 or 82123 of the natural resources
and environmental protection act, 1994 PA 451, MCL 324.81133 and 324.82123.
