SENATE BILL No. 584

 

 

October 27, 2015, Introduced by Senators MACGREGOR, HORN, HERTEL and KNOLLENBERG and referred to the Committee on Regulatory Reform.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled

 

"Michigan liquor control code of 1998,"

 

(MCL 436.1101 to 436.2303) by adding section 545a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 545a. (1) The commission, on submission of a completed

 

application, shall grant a home for the aged license to an

 

applicant complying with this section. The total number of licenses

 

issued under this section may not exceed 20. If the holder of a

 

license issued under this section goes out of business, the license

 

must be surrendered to the commission. The commission may allow the

 

transfer of the license to a new business owner on transfer of the

 

owner's interest in the business.

 

     (2) The holder of a home for the aged license may sell at

 

retail and serve on the licensed premises beer, wine, mixed spirit

 


drink, mixed wine drink, and spirits, for consumption on the

 

licensed premises by a resident or a bona fide guest accompanying

 

the resident.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.

 

     Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless all of the following bills of the 98th Legislature are

 

enacted into law:

 

     (a) Senate Bill No. 587.                                   

 

         

 

     (b) Senate Bill No. 586.                                   

 

         

 

     (c) Senate Bill No. 585.
