SENATE SUBSTITUTE FOR

 

HOUSE BILL NO. 5829

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

 

"The revised school code,"

 

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1241.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 1241. (1) The board of a school district or intermediate

 

school district, the board of directors of a public school academy,

 

or the governing body of a nonpublic school shall designate a

 

liaison to work with the school safety commission created under

 

section 5 of the comprehensive school safety plan act and the

 

office of school safety created by law. A liaison designated under

 

this section shall be an individual who is employed by the school

 

district, intermediate school district, public school academy, or

 

nonpublic school or who is assigned to regularly and continuously

 


work under contract in a school operated by the school district,

 

intermediate school district, public school academy, or nonpublic

 

school.

 

     (2) A liaison designated under this section shall work with

 

the school safety commission and the office of school safety to

 

identify model practices for determining school safety measures.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.

 

     Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless all of the following bills of the 99th Legislature are

 

enacted into law:

 

     (a) Senate Bill No. 982.

 

     (b) House Bill No. 5828.
