A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled
"The revised school code,"
(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1232.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 1232. Not later than October 1 each year, the board of a
school district or board of directors of a public school academy
shall post on the school district's or public school academy's
website, with a link on the homepage, and submit to the center for
educational performance and information a teacher retention and
turnover report for each school operated by the school district or
public school academy. The report shall be submitted in the form
and manner prescribed by the center for educational performance and
information and shall contain at least all of the following:
(a) For both the current school year and the current calendar
year, the total number of teachers serving in an instructional
position at the school.
(b) For both the immediately preceding school year and
immediately preceding calendar year, the total number of teachers
serving in an instructional position at the school.
(c) For both the current school year and the current calendar
year, the total number of teachers who are serving in an
instructional position at the school for that school year or
calendar year who were not serving in an instructional position at
the school in the immediately preceding school year or calendar
year, as applicable.
(d) For both the immediately preceding school year and
immediately preceding calendar year, the total number of teachers
who were serving in an instructional position at the school in that
school year or calendar year who are not serving in an
instructional position at the school for the current school year or
calendar year, as applicable.
(e) For both the immediately preceding school year and the
immediately preceding calendar year, the total number of teachers
who were serving in an instructional position at the school who
left that position permanently during that school year or calendar
year, as applicable.
(f) For both the immediately preceding school year and the
immediately preceding calendar year, the total number of teachers
who were serving in an instructional position at the school who
initially assumed that position during that school year or calendar
year, as applicable.
(g) The number of school years that the principal or chief
administrator of the school has served in that capacity for that
school.
