A bill to amend 1974 PA 258, entitled

"Mental health code,"

(MCL 330.1001 to 330.2106) by adding section 901a.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 901a. A mental health professional shall not engage in conversion therapy with a minor. A mental health professional who violates this section is subject to disciplinary action and licensing sanctions as provided under sections 16221(a) and 16226 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.16221 and 333.16226.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.

Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 4617 (request no. 01441'23) of the 102nd Legislature is enacted into law.
