MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring the Fulton County
Historical Society upon its 50th anniversary.
Whereas, The Fulton County Historical Society was
founded in April 1963;
Whereas, The first museum building was the Rochester
Depot Museum;
Whereas, The Fulton County Historical Society
incorporated as a non-profit in 1972;
Whereas, In 1976, the Fulton County Historical Society
added a Bicentennial log cabin to its museum site and began
the annual Trail of Courage Living History Festival;
Whereas, The Fulton County Historical Society acquired its
current museum property in 1988;
Whereas, Through the years, several additions have been
made to the museum to establish the Living History Village
called Loyal, Indiana; and
Whereas, The Fulton County Historical Society has been preserving the history of Fulton County through its museums, festivals, and interactive, historical re-enactments for the past fifty years: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate honors and congratulates the Fulton County Historical Society upon its 50th anniversary.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Fulton County Historical Society.
