A SENATE RESOLUTION urging the legislative council to assign to a study committee the topic of unlicensed funeral directors.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION urging the legislative council to assign
to a study committee the topic of unlicensed funeral directors.
Whereas, Funeral directors meet and interact with people during
what is often one of the worst times of their lives _ when they have lost
a loved one;
Whereas, Together with the deceased's family, funeral directors
handle details of a memorial service;
Whereas, Dealing with an unlicensed funeral director may subject
the deceased's family to unnecessary problems during times of extreme
stress and sadness: Therefore,
of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate urges the legislative council to
assign to a study committee the topic of unlicensed funeral directors.
SECTION 2. That the committee, if established, shall operate under
the direction of the legislative council and that the committee shall
issue such reports as directed by the council.
