    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the college.

    Whereas, Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana was founded as Indiana Vocational Technical College in 1963;

    Whereas, Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is the state's largest post-secondary institution with almost 200,000 students both online and on 30 campuses in 14 regions all over the state of Indiana and is the nation's largest state-wide community college with single accreditation;

    Whereas, nearly 200 academic programs for career development certificates, technical certificates, and associate degrees are offered by Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana at an economically affordable rate;

    Whereas, Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana prepares Indiana residents to learn, live, and work in a diverse and globally competitive environment by delivering professional, technical, transfer, and lifelong education: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate
of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:



    SECTION 1.    That the Indiana General Assembly honors Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the college. The administration, board of trustees, and staff of the college are commended for their dedication to academic achievement and longevity of Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.                 
    
SECTION 2.    The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Thomas J. Snyder, President of Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.
