        A RESOLUTION urging the legislative council to assign the Military and Veterans Affairs Commission the study of the needs of returning women veterans.

    Whereas, Women make up approximately 11 percent of the total military force deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan;

    Whereas, Many of these women veterans face an even tougher battle than men when they return home;

    Whereas, Female veterans often face lower pay and more homelessness and have fewer services available to them than their male counterparts; and

    Whereas, These brave and courageous veterans served

their country faithfully and now deserve all the benefits that we can provide: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the legislative council is urged to assign the Military and Veterans Affairs Commission the study of the needs of returning women veterans.
