    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Jewel Echelbarger upon her retirement as Executive Director of the Area 10 Agency on Aging.

    Whereas, Jewel Echelbarger became the Area 10 Agency on Aging's Executive Director in 1980; and

    Whereas, under Jewel Echelbarger 's leadership, the Area 10 Agency on Aging built more than sixty housing units in Owen and Monroe counties to provide quality and affordable housing for low income seniors; and

    Whereas, under Jewel Echelbarger 's leadership the Area 10 Agency on Aging built the Endwright Center in Ellettsville to serve as the agency's headquarters and further the agency's mission of serving senior citizens; and

    Whereas, Jewel Echelbarger 's thirty years of service has improved the lives senior citizens in Owen and Monroe counties; and

    Whereas, Jewel Echelbarger will retire as Executive Director on February 2, 2010 to spend time raising cattle and helping preserve the environment; Therefore

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly thanks Jewel Echelbarger for her dedication and service to the senior citizens of Owen County and Monroe County and congratulates her on her retirement.
    SECTION 2. That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmits a copy of the resolution to Jewel Echelbarger.
