Synopsis: Offenses against business. Provides that a person who, with the intent to damage or interfere with an employer's business or to persuade or attempt to persuade an employee to leave employment with an employer: (1) seeks or obtains employment; (2) conspires with another person to seek or obtain employment; or (3) directs another person to seek or obtain employment; with the employer commits a Class A misdemeanor.

Effective: July 1, 2011.

    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning criminal law and procedure.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 35-46-9; (11)IN1358.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 35-46-9 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW CHAPTER TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2011]:
     Chapter 9. Offenses Against Business
    Sec. 1. A person who, with the intent to damage or interfere with an employer's business:
        (1) seeks or obtains employment with the employer;
        (2) conspires with another person to seek or obtain employment with the employer; or
        (3) directs another person to seek or obtain employment with the employer;
commits a Class A misdemeanor.
    Sec. 2. A person who, with the intent to persuade or to attempt to persuade an employee to leave employment with an employer:
        (1) seeks or obtains employment with the employer;
        (2) conspires with another person to seek or obtain employment with the employer; or
        (3) directs another person to seek or obtain employment with the employer;
commits a Class A misdemeanor.
