HOUSE BILL No. 1334



    A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning motor vehicles.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: ; (11)EH1334.2.1. -->     SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2011] (a) As used in this SECTION, "committee" refers to the interim study committee on motorized bicycles and motor scooters established by this SECTION.
    (b) As used in this SECTION, "motor scooter" has the meaning set forth in IC 9-13-2-104.
    (c) As used in this SECTION, "motorized bicycle" has the meaning set forth in IC 9-13-2-109.
    (d) There is established the interim study committee on motorized bicycles and motor scooters. The committee shall study issues related to the use of motorized bicycles and motor scooters in Indiana, including the following topics:
        (1) Definitions of the following:
            (A) Motorized bicycle.
            (B) Motor scooter.
            (C) Moped.
            (D) Motor-driven cycle.
        (2) Issues related to:
            (A) internal combustion power; and
            (B) battery power;
        of the motor vehicles referenced in subdivision (1).
        (3) Issues relating to:
            (A) necessary equipment for;
            (B) licensing of operators of;
            (C) titling of;
            (D) registration of;
            (E) taxation of; and
            (F) insurance requirements for:
        the motor vehicles referenced in subdivision (1).
    (e) The committee shall operate under the policies governing study committees adopted by the legislative council.
    (f) The affirmative votes of a majority of the voting members appointed to the committee are required for the committee to take action on any measure, including final reports.
    (g) This SECTION expires December 31, 2011.
