SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of D. Steven Maricle of Peoria, who passed
4away on October 23, 2016; and
5 WHEREAS, D. Steven Maricle was born on October 12, 1947 in
6Peoria; his parents were Doyle and Frances Maricle; he married
7Linda Trail on July 19, 1969; and
8 WHEREAS, D. Steven Maricle played high school and
9collegiate sports as a young man; and
10 WHEREAS, D. Steven Maricle was a Sergeant in the Illinois
11Air National Guard; he retired after many years of service as a
12funeral director; and
13 WHEREAS, D. Steven Maricle was a longtime member of Mt.
14Olive Missionary Church and later a founding elder of White
15Rose Fellowship in Bellevue; he attended Richwoods Christian
16Church at the time of his passing; and
17 WHEREAS, D. Steven Maricle had a great love of music; he
18sang in many church and area music events, including the Pride
19of Peoria Chorus; he was also a member of the Society for the
20Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing

1in America; and
2 WHEREAS, D. Steven Maricle was preceded in death by his
3parents and one grandchild; and
4 WHEREAS, D. Steven Maricle is survived by his wife, Linda;
5his children, Dyrke (Sarah) Maricle and Jordan (Joshua) Clum;
6his grandchildren, Ethan, Lucie, and Arlis Maricle and Ellowyn
7Clum; his sister, Christine (Roy) Buck; and two nephews;
8therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of D. Steven Maricle; and
12be it further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of D. Steven Maricle as an expression
15of our sympathy.
