| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Harold Marshall Morrison, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on November 11, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Harold Morrison was born in Lake Forest on | ||||||
6 | February 21, 1932; he graduated from Trinity College in | ||||||
7 | Hartford, Connecticut and received his Master of Science in | ||||||
8 | Engineering from Purdue University; he lived in various parts | ||||||
9 | of the country before returning with his family to Lake Forest | ||||||
10 | in the early 1970s; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Harold Morrison worked for General Motors | ||||||
12 | Research Laboratories and then IBM; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Harold Morrison served as an alderman for the City | ||||||
14 | of Lake Forest, a board member of the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff | ||||||
15 | Historical Society (History Center), and president of the | ||||||
16 | Manasota Key Association in Florida; he also served as a board | ||||||
17 | member of the Evans Capacitor Company; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Harold Morrison was an elder and active member of | ||||||
19 | the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest; he was known for | ||||||
20 | his love of music and sang in the Lake Forest Presbyterian | ||||||
21 | Church choir for over 40 years and for many years with the |

1 | Commuters barbershop quartet group; he had a love of physical | ||||||
2 | activity and the outdoors, especially tennis; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Harold Morrison loved science and was committed to | ||||||
4 | protecting water quality; when computers were first introduced | ||||||
5 | into the public school system, he spent many hours working at | ||||||
6 | North Lawndale College Prep Charter High School and at schools | ||||||
7 | in North Chicago to ensure classrooms were computer-ready; | ||||||
8 | together with his wife, Addie, he started a family foundation | ||||||
9 | as a way of bringing his family together to make a difference | ||||||
10 | in the world; and

11 | WHEREAS, Harold Morrison is survived by his wife of 63 | ||||||
12 | years, Adeline Steans Morrison; his daughters, Helen H. | ||||||
13 | Morrison, Amy M. Heinrich (Robert Heinrich), Lois L. Morrison | ||||||
14 | (Justin Daab), and Margot M. Brinley (Charles Brinley); and his | ||||||
15 | grandchildren, Maxwell, Ian, and Emma Heinrich, Josephine and | ||||||
16 | Adeline Daab, and William, Reily, and Catherine Brinley; | ||||||
17 | therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
20 | Harold Marshall Morrison and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
21 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
22 | further
