2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Donald J. Chopp; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Donald Chopp dedicated his life to his family and | ||||||
5 | to causes he believed in, including Catholic education and | ||||||
6 | community outreach; he served on school boards for St. Hugh, | ||||||
7 | St. Cletus, and Nazareth Academy; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Donald Chopp belonged to Congregation of St. | ||||||
9 | Joseph as an associate; he served as a Catholic minister of | ||||||
10 | care; he also championed interfaith refugee resettlement | ||||||
11 | through New Hope Connection; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Donald Chopp was the beloved husband of 55 years | ||||||
13 | of Marylin (Tyce); the loving father of Catherine (James) | ||||||
14 | Hinckley, Daniel (Maureen) Chopp, David Chopp, and Patricia | ||||||
15 | (Arthur) Keegan; the loving grandfather of Claire, Danielle, | ||||||
16 | Jack, John, Thomas, and Anna; the fond brother of Carol and | ||||||
17 | Jean Chopp; and uncle and friend to many; therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
20 | Donald J. Chopp, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
21 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
