SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Dan E. Parr, who passed away on September
8, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Dan Parr was born in Waukegan to Dan Parr and
Alice Hilda (Steele) on August 22, 1925; he served in the U.S.
Air Force as a navigator from 1944 to 1946; he married Dorothy
Pasiewicz, and they had 54 years together and raised two
daughters; and
WHEREAS, Dan Parr built a career in manufacturing sales; he
retired after 38 years with Fansteel/HK Porter; and
WHEREAS, Dan Parr met Mary (Mavon) Ellmore in Dunedin,
Florida in 2001; he enjoyed having family and friends visit him
in Florida and at his home at Pine Lake in Clintonville,
Wisconsin; at the age of 86, he was proud to participate in an
Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.; and
WHEREAS, Dan Parr was preceded in death by his wife,
Dorothy (Pasiewicz); his daughter, Geraldine Parr; his
parents; his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Shisler; and his
sons-in-law, Kurt McKenzie and Gerald T. Altman; and

WHEREAS, Dan Parr is survived by Mavon; his daughter, Linda
Parr Altman (Robert Marling); his granddaughter, Daniellinda
Schooley (Eric Schleef); and his great-granddaughter, Audrey
Delilah Schleef; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Dan E. Parr and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Dan Parr as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
