2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Beth M. Shannon of Geneva, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on June 12, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon was born in Antigo, Wisconsin to | ||||||
6 | Francis and Donna (Matzke) Gilson on February 5, 1962; she | ||||||
7 | earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University | ||||||
8 | of Wisconsin-Eau Claire; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon was passionate about teaching and was | ||||||
10 | a longtime 5th grade teacher at Western Avenue School in | ||||||
11 | Geneva; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon enjoyed baking and shopping and had a | ||||||
13 | beautiful flower garden every year; she also loved spending | ||||||
14 | time with her family; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon was preceded in death by her | ||||||
16 | father-in-law, Hugh Shannon, and her sister-in-law, Angela | ||||||
17 | Shannon; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon is survived by her loving husband of | ||||||
19 | 28 years, Dan; her children, Eryn and Bret; her parents; her | ||||||
20 | brothers and sisters, Tom Gilson, Nancy Gilson, David (Katie) |

7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Beth M. Shannon, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
