2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Anna Mae Lukancic of Crest Hill, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on October 7, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Anna Mae Lukancic was born in Joliet to Valentine | ||||||
6 | and Lillian (Ziesemer) Longhini on April 11, 1937; she | ||||||
7 | graduated from Lockport Township High School, where she | ||||||
8 | discovered her love for singing; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Anna Mae Lukancic was a soprano singer and a | ||||||
10 | cantor at Mass for St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet, St. | ||||||
11 | Ambrose Church, and St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill, as | ||||||
12 | well as at weddings and funerals in numerous other churches; | ||||||
13 | she directed the Glory and Praise Choir at St. Joseph's for | ||||||
14 | over 15 years; she sang in the diocesan choir at the Cathedral | ||||||
15 | of St. Raymond in Joliet; she performed various patriotic songs | ||||||
16 | at Crest Hill's Annual Memorial Day Observance for 30 years; | ||||||
17 | and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Anna Mae was known for her remarkably close | ||||||
19 | relationship with her family, always putting everyone else's | ||||||
20 | needs above her own, and for being a cherished friend to many; | ||||||
21 | she will be remembered for touching the lives of her | ||||||
22 | grandchildren, sharing words of wisdom with them and having a |

1 | positive impact on their lives; and

2 | WHEREAS, Anna Mae Lukancic was preceded in death by her | ||||||
3 | parents; her son, John; her daughter in infancy, Angela | ||||||
4 | Lukancic; her brother, Richard; and her in-laws, Louis (Paula) | ||||||
5 | Lukancic, Emma (Robert) Bechler, Helen (Raymond) Valerugo, and | ||||||
6 | James (Patricia) Collins Lukancic; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Anna Mae Lukancic is survived by her husband of 61 | ||||||
8 | years, John; her daughter, Kathleen Carbone; her son, Tom | ||||||
9 | (Tami) Lukancic; her grandchildren, Angelina (Ricky) Cho, | ||||||
10 | Gianna Carbone, Michael Carbone, John (Heather) Lukancic, | ||||||
11 | Steven (Jamie) Lukancic, and Colleen Lukancic; her six | ||||||
12 | great-grandchildren; her in-laws, Margaret (late Richard) | ||||||
13 | Longhini, Lillian (late Clarence) Murphy, Angela (Walter) | ||||||
14 | Zaida, Maryann Lukancic, Dr. Kent (late Dr. Mildred) Monroe, | ||||||
15 | and Dr. Louis (Barbara) Lukancic; and her numerous nieces and | ||||||
16 | nephews; therefore, be it

17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
19 | Anna Mae Lukancic and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
20 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
21 | further

22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
