2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Raymond G. Saelens of Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on July 21, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens was born in Silvis to Rene and | ||||||
6 | Eliza (DeKoker) Saelens on February 4, 1930; he married Joyce | ||||||
7 | Stahl in Havanah on August 17, 1957; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens worked for the U.S. Army as an | ||||||
9 | accountant; prior to working for the Army, he worked for John | ||||||
10 | Deere; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens was a member of St Mary's | ||||||
12 | Catholic Church; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens was preceded in death by his | ||||||
14 | parents and son, Lawrence "Larry"; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Raymond Saelens is survived by his wife, Joyce; | ||||||
16 | his children, Beth (Michael) Nickell, Mark (Jennifer) Saelens, | ||||||
17 | Daniel (Deborah) Saelens, and Diane (Joseph) Gardner; 10 | ||||||
18 | grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |

1 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
2 | Raymond G. Saelens and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
3 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||

5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
6 | presented to the family of Raymond Saelens as an expression of | ||||||
7 | our deepest sympathy.
