2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Lyle E. Lohse of Silvis, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on April 11, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse was born to Elmer and Marie (Thee) | ||||||
6 | Lohse in Jackson, Minnesota on May 1, 1933; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | United Township High School and served in the U.S. Army during | ||||||
8 | the Korean Conflict; he married Patricia Bruegger in Silvis on | ||||||
9 | December 3, 1955; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse worked as a grocery foreman at Eagle's | ||||||
11 | Warehouse for 37 years; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse served as a Silvis alderman for 12 | ||||||
13 | years before he became mayor of Silvis in 1997; he served the | ||||||
14 | city until 2009; he was instrumental in bringing the TPC Deere | ||||||
15 | Run to Silvis; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse also served on the Silvis School Board | ||||||
17 | and the Silvis Park Board; he was a member of Christ United | ||||||
18 | Methodist Church, Silvis; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse was preceded in death by his wife and | ||||||
20 | his four brothers; and

1 | WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse is survived by his sons, Daniel Lohse | ||||||
2 | and Richard (Maria) Lohse; his grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) | ||||||
3 | Lohse and Katharine (Nile) Lohse; his great-grandchildren, | ||||||
4 | Vivien Lohse and Eliza Lohse; and his brother, Don (Sue) | ||||||
5 | Lohse; therefore, be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

8 | Lyle E. Lohse and extend our sincere
condolences to his | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
