2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Robert Virgil "Bob" Lintz of East | ||||||
4 | Moline, who passed away on February 24, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Lintz was born to Virgil and Norma (Deastch) | ||||||
6 | Lintz in Washington, Iowa on May 15, 1945; he served in the | ||||||
7 | U.S. Air Force for two tours of duty in Vietnam; he graduated | ||||||
8 | from St. Ambrose University with top honors; he married Marcia | ||||||
9 | McKinney in Moline on May 18, 1974; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Bob Lintz was employed at Inpro Companies in Rock | ||||||
11 | Island for 22 years, retiring in the position of comptroller | ||||||
12 | in 1998; he previously worked at KPMG and the John Deere | ||||||
13 | Insurance Company; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Bob Lintz served on the boards of the Rock Island | ||||||
15 | Health Council, the Rock Island Small Business Incubator, the | ||||||
16 | 17th Congressional District Veterans, Small Business Advisory | ||||||
17 | Boards, and the John Deere Credit Union; he was the founder of | ||||||
18 | the Neighborhood Watch in East Moline, the oldest one in the | ||||||
19 | Quad Cities; and

20 | WHEREAS, Bob Lintz was a member of Christ the King | ||||||
21 | Catholic Church in Moline and St. Mary's Catholic Church in |

1 | Anna; he was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars | ||||||
2 | (VFW) and a member of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) #229; | ||||||
3 | he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Leo Council in East | ||||||
4 | Moline, the Knights of Columbus in Union County, and Cursillo; | ||||||
5 | he was a former member of Kiwanis, the American Legion, | ||||||
6 | Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and the National Association | ||||||
7 | of Accountants; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Bob Lintz was interested in work, community, and | ||||||
9 | family; he loved local history; he enjoyed listening to Red | ||||||
10 | Sovine songs and sharing Saturday morning breakfasts out with | ||||||
11 | his family followed by trips to the local hardware store to get | ||||||
12 | supplies for home improvement projects; in his later years, he | ||||||
13 | enjoyed attending farm shows with his son and two older | ||||||
14 | grandsons; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Bob Lintz was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
16 | his brothers, Leonard and Dean Lintz; and his parents-in-law, | ||||||
17 | Fred and Marcella McKinney; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Bob Lintz is survived by his wife, Marcia; his | ||||||
19 | children, Jonathan Lintz and Sara (David) Sacks; his | ||||||
20 | grandchildren, Jace Lintz, Caleb Sacks, and Jonah Sacks; his | ||||||
21 | step-grandchildren, Carlie and Colton Clausen; his siblings, | ||||||
22 | Linda (Robert) Phillips, Leon (Debbie) Lintz, and Sue Ann | ||||||
23 | (Marc) Stavale; and his ex-daughters-in-law, Jami Hartsock and |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Robert Virgil "Bob" Lintz and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
5 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
