| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Andrew Bradie, Jr., who passed away on | ||||||
4 | July 23, 2012; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. was born on May 15, 1929, in | ||||||
6 | Memphis, Tennessee; his parents were Andrew and Sarah Bradie; | ||||||
7 | he later took residence in Fort Wayne, Indiana during his | ||||||
8 | school years before relocating to Chicago; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. was a strong proponent of | ||||||
10 | education and a devout man of faith; he enrolled his children | ||||||
11 | in St. Dorothy Elementary School and converted to become a | ||||||
12 | Roman Catholic in 1957; he remained an active member of the | ||||||
13 | parish over the course of his entire life; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. was employed in the parking | ||||||
15 | industry for 55 years; he began his career as an attendant, but | ||||||
16 | ultimately found himself opening multiple facilities in the | ||||||
17 | Midwest and setting up systems to create more efficiently and | ||||||
18 | smoothly-operated parking facilities; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. enjoyed taking vacations with | ||||||
20 | his family, photography, camping, riding motorcycles and | ||||||
21 | horses, grilling, cleaning and polishing his many cars, mystery |

1 | novels, and jazz; and

2 | WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. is preceded in death by his | ||||||
3 | son, Keith; his brothers, Israel and Roy; and his | ||||||
4 | great-grandchild, Johkye Chase Bradie; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie, Jr. is survived by his loving wife | ||||||
6 | of 63 years, Mary; his devoted children, Dianne and Andrew III; | ||||||
7 | his daughters-in-law, Diana and Sylvia; his sister, Sarah; his | ||||||
8 | brother, Curvey; his brother-in-law, James McGee (Hazel); his | ||||||
9 | grandchildren, Christopher Bradie, Ed.D, Nicole (Anton) | ||||||
10 | Braton, Keith Bradie, Jr., and Tiffany (Lloyd) Gregoire Ramsey; | ||||||
11 | his great-grandchildren, La'Sha Bradie and Jay Anthony Bradie; | ||||||
12 | and his many other relatives and family friends; therefore, be | ||||||
13 | it

14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
16 | his family and friends, the passing of Andrew Bradie, Jr.; and | ||||||
17 | be it further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Andrew Bradie, Jr. as an expression | ||||||
20 | of our sympathy.
