2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Ronald B. "Ron" Miller of Illinois City, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on November 17, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ron Miller was born in Drury Township to David and | ||||||
6 | Vada Pulliam Miller on February 26, 1926; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Aledo High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Navy; he | ||||||
8 | married Betty Jo Vance in Aledo on April 16, 1949; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Ron Miller farmed in the Eliza area for many | ||||||
10 | years; he was also employed in the maintenance department at | ||||||
11 | The HON Company in Muscatine, Iowa, retiring in 1991; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Ron Miller was a member of the Westmer Larger | ||||||
13 | Parish and the Mercer County VFW Post 1571; he enjoyed hunting, | ||||||
14 | fishing, and being with his family; he was an avid fan of the | ||||||
15 | Chicago Cubs; and

16 | WHEREAS, Ron Miller was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
17 | Betty Jo; his parents; and his brothers, Robert and Lyle; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Ron Miller is survived by his daughter, Darcy | ||||||
19 | Relander; his sons, Steve, Ron (Robin), and Scott (Jill) | ||||||
20 | Miller; his grandchildren, Kelly Jo, Travis, and Cody; three |

1 | great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; his sister, Donna | ||||||
2 | Thompson; three nieces; and two nephews and their families; | ||||||

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Ronald B. "Ron" Miller and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
7 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
8 | further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Ron Miller as an expression of our | ||||||
11 | deepest sympathy.
