SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Ross Alan Kitchen of Marengo, who passed
away on December 28, 2009; and
WHEREAS, He was born September 13, 1936, in Belvidere, to
the late Clifford and Hazel (Hyde) Kitchen; on October 27,
1957, in Marengo, he married Shirley Pinnow; and
WHEREAS, He was a United States Navy veteran and a Marengo
Fire Department fire chief for 35 years out of his 45-year
career, retiring in 2005; he retired from Chrysler in Belvidere
after 25 years of service as fire marshal; and
WHEREAS, He was a member of the Marengo Economic
Development Commission, a member of the Northern Illinois Fire
Museum, a former McHenry County Board member, a McHenry County
Republican precinct committeeman, and a past little league
coach for many years; and
WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger;
and his grandson, Andrew Richardson; and
WHEREAS, Ross Alan Kitchen is survived by his wife of 52
years, Shirley; his four daughters, Michelle "Micki" (Jeffrey)

Bush, Jill Bauman, Susan Carmichael, and Allison "Ali" (James)
Limbaugh; his 10 grandchildren, Jay, Adam (Celicia) Cassel,
Maxwell Ross Bush, Megan, Zachary, and Molly Richardson,
Jessica Carmichael, and Jesse, Cody, and Samuel Limbaugh; and
his great-granddaughter, Kiersea Cassel; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family and friends, the passing of Ross Alan Kitchen; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Ross Alan Kitchen as a symbol of our
sincere sympathy.
