2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Paul L. Cook of Milan, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | May 7, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Paul Cook was born in Lauratown, Arkansas to Paul | ||||||
6 | Cook and Lela Johnson Cook on April 6, 1943; he served in the | ||||||
7 | United States Army in Korea and married Holly Krueger; he then | ||||||
8 | married Neva McKinley in Union County on April 13, 1993; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Paul Cook worked for the J.I. Case Company (now | ||||||
10 | Case Corporation) for 30 years until his retirement in 1994; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Paul Cook was a member of First Landmark | ||||||
13 | Missionary Baptist Church in Rock Island, the Milan American | ||||||
14 | Legion Post No. 569, and the Rock Island Conservation Club; he | ||||||
15 | served on the board of directors for the J.I. Case Credit | ||||||
16 | Union, the J.I. Case Safety Committee, and the executive board | ||||||
17 | of 806; and

18 | WHEREAS, Paul Cook enjoyed gardening, fishing, and | ||||||
19 | spending time with his grandchildren; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Paul Cook was preceded in death by his parents and |

1 | his brothers, Ruben, Burley, and Charles; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Paul Cook is survived by his wife, Neva; his | ||||||
3 | daughter, Teresa Pardee; his stepchildren, William McKinley | ||||||
4 | Jr., Mary (Alan) Taulbee, Faith Dykes, Pauline Dick (Chuck | ||||||
5 | Dole), and Kevin (Julie) McKinley; his 15 grandchildren; his 10 | ||||||
6 | great-grandchildren; his sisters, Letha Elliott, Anna (Ed) | ||||||
7 | Weinert, and Phyllis Munoz; and several nieces and nephews; | ||||||
8 | therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
11 | Paul L. Cook, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
12 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
14 | presented to the family of Paul Cook as an expression of our | ||||||
15 | deepest sympathy.
