| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Donald E. "Don" Meseth of Des Plaines, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on April 17, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Don Meseth was born to Harry and Anne Meseth in | ||||||
6 | Chicago on March 3, 1933; he served in the U.S. Army; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Don Meseth was a resident of Des Plaines for the | ||||||
8 | last 66 years, during which he became well-known for his | ||||||
9 | involvement as director of the Des Plaines Emergency | ||||||
10 | Management Agency (EMA) and commander of Des Plaines American | ||||||
11 | Legion Post 36; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Don Meseth was also a member of Elks Lodge 1526 | ||||||
13 | and the New Tradition Chorus; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Don Meseth loved and cared for many animals | ||||||
15 | throughout his life; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Don Meseth was the husband of Marion B. | ||||||
17 | (Baumgartner) Meseth for 65 years; the father of Pamela | ||||||
18 | Meseth-Fack; the brother of Sandra (Donald) Arnholz and the | ||||||
19 | late Carol (Alan) Brown; the uncle of Jeri (Thomas) Eberhardt | ||||||
20 | and several additional nieces and nephews; and the owner of |

1 | his 14-year-old golden retriever, Angie; therefore, be it

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Donald E. "Don" Meseth and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
5 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
6 | further
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Don Meseth as an expression of our | ||||||
9 | deepest sympathy.
