2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the sudden death of Peter Stempniak of Oak Park, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on November 17, 2022 at the age of 36; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak was born in Oak Park and attended | ||||||
6 | Irving Elementary, Julian Middle School, and Oak Park River | ||||||
7 | Forest High School, from which he graduated in 2005; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak was a trombone player, wrestler, | ||||||
9 | and football player at Oak Park River Forest High School; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak later attended Le Cordon Bleu | ||||||
11 | College of Culinary Arts in Chicago, pursuing his passion for | ||||||
12 | preparing food; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak joined the U.S. Marines, where he | ||||||
14 | spent time in San Diego and Okinawa, Japan; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak married Fiordaliza Nunez in 2010, | ||||||
16 | whom he met while both were in a high school work-study program | ||||||
17 | at Rush Oak Park Hospital; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak was discharged and moved his wife | ||||||
19 | and their first-born child to California; and

1 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak was a longtime stay-at-home | ||||||
2 | father, who enjoyed walking his children to school, making | ||||||
3 | lunches, and taking his oldest to wrestling practice; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak was active in his church | ||||||
5 | community, played the harmonica, and enjoyed fitness and | ||||||
6 | movies; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak was preceded in death by his | ||||||
8 | father, Martin Stempniak, and his half brother, Matthew | ||||||
9 | Stempniak; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak is survived by his wife, | ||||||
11 | Fiordaliza Nunez; his children, Azariah, Luke, Beth, and | ||||||
12 | Peter; his siblings, Martin (Jennifer) and Zachary (Melissa) | ||||||
13 | Stempniak; his half sister, Margaret (David) Del Vecchio; his | ||||||
14 | mother, Agnes Stempniak; his niece, Mia; and his three | ||||||
15 | nephews, Calvin, Joseph, and Max; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Peter Stempniak will be missed by his family, | ||||||
17 | many friends, and colleagues; therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
20 | Peter Stempniak and extend our sincere condolences to his |
