| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Charles H. "Chuck" Daniels of Hampton, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on January 21, 2021; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels was born in Davenport, Iowa to | ||||||
| 6 | Charles I and Norma (Meinert) Daniels on October 21, 1935; he | ||||||
| 7 | served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era; he married | ||||||
| 8 | Theresa Smolenski on July 2, 1966, and she preceded him in | ||||||
| 9 | death on January 5, 1977; he married Joan (Raymond) Larson in | ||||||
| 10 | Rock Island on October 7, 1978; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels worked for John Deere Foundry for | ||||||
| 12 | 32 years; he retired as a supervisor in 1986; after | ||||||
| 13 | retirement, he worked at the former Ron's Town Liquor in East | ||||||
| 14 | Moline; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels was a member of the East End | ||||||
| 16 | Boulder's Club and the Moline Elks; he enjoyed seeing drag | ||||||
| 17 | races, going on weekend camping trips to Camp Hauberg, and | ||||||
| 18 | having bi-weekly breakfasts with his buddies; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels was preceded in death by his first | ||||||
| 20 | wife; his parents; and his siblings, Delores Henderson, | ||||||
| 21 | Marilyn Bloomquist, James Daniels, Carl Daniels, and John | ||||||

| 1 | "Jack" Daniels; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels is survived by his wife of 42 | ||||||
| 3 | years, Joan; his children, Steve Larson, Pam Karlix, Lisa | ||||||
| 4 | (Mike) Popelier, and Pat Daniels; his grandchildren, Erik, | ||||||
| 5 | Michael and Kim Karlix and Tyler, Bryson Popelier, and Rylee | ||||||
| 6 | Daniels; his great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Cole; his | ||||||
| 7 | siblings, Leoria Denato, Dorthea Jamieson, Charlotte (Arnold) | ||||||
| 8 | Frank, Betty (Gary) Welch, Shirley Bonnett, and Linda Bacus; | ||||||
| 9 | and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
| 11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 12 | Charles H. "Chuck" Daniels and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 13 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 14 | it further
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to the family of Chuck Daniels as an expression of | ||||||
| 17 | our deepest sympathy.
