SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Frank G. Dexter III of Taylor Ridge,
who passed away on December 15, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Frank Dexter was born in Frankfurt, Germany to
Frank G. Jr. and Florence (Kaufman) Dexter on October 29,
1948; he graduated from Rock Island High School and attended
Black Hawk College; he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1967
and served in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War; he
married Becky A. McLaughlin in Rock Island on November 21,
1975; and
WHEREAS, Frank Dexter owned and operated Action Auto Body
in Rock Island from 1973 until 2004; he then opened Dexter
Custom Woodworks, which he ran until his retirement in 2017;
and
WHEREAS, Frank Dexter loved fishing, woodworking,
gardening, and cars; and
WHEREAS, Frank Dexter was preceded in death by his
parents; and
WHEREAS, Frank Dexter is survived by his wife, Becky; his

sons, Andrew Frank Dexter (Stephanie McNall) and Joshua Adam
(Chelsie) Dexter; his grandson, Cash Dexter; his
step-grandchildren, Paige Preston, Bailey Preston, and Payton
Anderson; his sisters, Linda (Jeff) Hindman and Lori Mizlo;
and many extended family members and friends; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Frank G. Dexter III and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Frank Dexter as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
