2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Donald "Don" E. Balliu of Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on December 28, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Don Balliu was born to Clement and Gladys | ||||||
6 | (Spivey) Balliu in Rock Island on April 27, 1934; he served in | ||||||
7 | the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Sally Beals in | ||||||
8 | Rock Island; he later married Madeline Dunbar in Moline; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Don Balliu worked for John Deere Plow Planter, | ||||||
10 | Moline Division; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Don Balliu was a member of VFW Velie Post 2153, | ||||||
12 | Moline, American Legion Post 246, Moline, and the Rock Island | ||||||
13 | Elks; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Don Balliu enjoyed dancing and traveling; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Don Balliu was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
16 | Madeline Dunbar; therefore, be it

17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
19 | Donald "Don" E. Balliu and extend our sincere condolences to |

1 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||

3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
