SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of William "Papa" Passero of Westmont, who
passed away on December 14, 2010; and
WHEREAS, William Passero was the owner and founder of Papa
Passero's Family Pizzeria in Westmont; he opened the restaurant
in 1977; and
WHEREAS, He was born in Chicago; he served in the United
States Navy; after his service he opened a number of
restaurants in the Chicago area before opening the location in
Westmont; and
WHEREAS, Many of the recipes at the restaurant were his
own, including the dough and the meatballs; and
WHEREAS, He hosted a free lunch buffet for local military
veterans, police officers, and firefighters each Memorial Day
and Veterans Day for the past 15 years; and
WHEREAS, William Passero is survived by his wife, Dolores;
his children, William "Billy", Andrew, and Linda Trilla; his
sister, Florence; his 11 grandchildren; and his 2
great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family, friends, and loyal customers, the passing of
William "Papa" Passero; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of William Passero as a symbol of our
sincere sympathy.
