| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2010
| ||||||
| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2010 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:
| ||||||
| 4 | "Section 5. The Illinois Income Tax Act is amended by | ||||||
| 5 | adding Section 507DDD as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (35 ILCS 5/507DDD new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 507DDD. President Barack Obama Presidential Library | ||||||
| 8 | and Museum checkoff. For taxable
years ending on or after | ||||||
| 9 | December 31, 2014, the Department must
print on its standard | ||||||
| 10 | individual income tax form a provision
(i) indicating that if | ||||||
| 11 | the taxpayer wishes to contribute to the
Capital Development | ||||||
| 12 | Fund for the purposes of constructing a presidential library | ||||||
| 13 | and museum dedicated to the legacy of President Barack Obama, | ||||||
| 14 | as authorized by this amendatory Act of
the 98th General | ||||||
| 15 | Assembly, he or she may do so by stating the
amount of the | ||||||
| 16 | contribution (not less than $1) on the return and
(ii) stating | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | that the contribution will reduce the taxpayer's refund or
| ||||||
| 2 | increase the amount of payment to accompany the return. Failure
| ||||||
| 3 | to remit any amount of increased payment shall reduce the
| ||||||
| 4 | contribution accordingly. Notwithstanding any other provision | ||||||
| 5 | of law, moneys deposited into the Capital Development Fund from | ||||||
| 6 | contributions under this Section shall be used only for the | ||||||
| 7 | purposes of constructing a presidential library and museum | ||||||
| 8 | dedicated to the legacy of President Barack Obama, including | ||||||
| 9 | the repayment of bonded indebtedness incurred for those | ||||||
| 10 | purposes. This Section does not apply to any
amended return.

| 11 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 12 | becoming law.".
