SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
305 ILCS 5/5-1.5 new

Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that eligibility criteria for voluntary populations to receive medical assistance approved under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, including previously ineligible individuals with incomes up to 133% of the federal poverty level, shall not be expanded. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 5-1.5 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/5-1.5 new)
7 Sec. 5-1.5. Eligibility expansions; voluntary populations.
8Eligibility criteria for voluntary populations to receive
9medical assistance approved under the federal Patient
10Protection and Affordable Care Act, including previously
11ineligible individuals with incomes up to 133% of the federal
12poverty level, shall not be expanded.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
