Bill Title: Amends the Election Code. Provides that every school board shall offer to the appropriate officer or board having responsibility for providing polling places for elections the use of any and all buildings under its jurisdiction for any and all elections to be held, if so requested by such appropriate officer or board. Provides that, for the day of the election, a school district is encouraged to (i) close the school or (ii) hold a teachers institute on that day with students not in attendance.

AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5755
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5755 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5Women's Health Referendum Act.
6 Section 5. Referendum. The State Board of Elections shall
7cause a statewide advisory public question to be submitted to
8the voters at the general election to be held on November 4,
92014. The question shall appear in the following form:
10 "Shall any health insurance plan in Illinois that provides
11 prescription drug coverage be required to include
12 prescription birth control as part of that coverage?"
13The votes on the question shall be recorded as "Yes" or "No".
14 Section 10. Certification. The State Board of Elections
15shall immediately certify the question to be submitted to the

1voters of the entire State under Section 5 to each election
2authority in Illinois.
3 Section 15. Conflicts. If any provision of this Act
4conflicts with any other law, this Act controls.
5 Section 90. Repeal. This Act is repealed on January 1,
62015.
7 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
8becoming law.".
