Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that a public utility must release an account hold on a customer's account within 48 hours after the customer has made a payment in full to the public utility.

1 AN ACT concerning utilities.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding
5Section 8-209 as follows:
6 (220 ILCS 5/8-209 new)
7 Sec. 8-209. Customer account holds. A public utility must
8release an account hold on a customer's account within 48 hours
9after the customer has made a payment in full to the public
10utility.
