AN ACT concerning government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
adding Section 175 as follows:
(5 ILCS 490/175 new)
Sec. 175. Eat Local, Buy Illinois Products Day. The first
Saturday of each month is designated as Eat Local, Buy Illinois
Products Day to promote local food initiatives, Illinois
agribusiness, and to encourage residents to re-invest in the
local economy. The Department of Agriculture's Illinois
Product Logo Program shall assist in increasing awareness and
sales of Illinois food and agribusiness products.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
