AN ACT concerning government.
| ||||
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||
represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||
Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by | ||||
adding Section 175 as follows:

(5 ILCS 490/175 new) | ||||
Sec. 175. Eat Local, Buy Illinois Products Day. The first | ||||
Saturday of each month is designated as Eat Local, Buy Illinois | ||||
Products Day to promote local food initiatives, Illinois | ||||
agribusiness, and to encourage residents to re-invest in the | ||||
local economy. The Department of Agriculture's Illinois | ||||
Product Logo Program shall assist in increasing awareness and | ||||
sales of Illinois food and agribusiness products.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||
becoming law.
