410 ILCS 620/3.25 new

Amends the Illinois Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law, any packaging of beef sold in Illinois must have a label on the packaging that contains the beef's country of origin.

1 AN ACT concerning health.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act is
5amended by adding Section 3.25 as follows:
6 (410 ILCS 620/3.25 new)
7 Sec. 3.25. Beef packaging; country of origin.
8Notwithstanding any other provision of law, any packaging of
9beef sold in Illinois must have a label on the packaging that
10contains the beef's country of origin.
