1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Gas Storage Act is amended by changing
5Section 1 as follows:
6 (220 ILCS 15/1) (from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 5501)
7 Sec. 1. Any corporation which is engaged in or desires to
8engage in, the the distribution, transportation or storage of
9natural gas or manufactured gas, which gas, in whole or in
10part, is intended for ultimate distribution to the public in
11the State of Illinois, if the said business of such corporation
12is regulated or subject to regulation under either the laws of
13the State of Illinois or the laws of the United States, shall
14have the right to enter upon, take or damage private property
15or any interest therein, in the manner provided for by the law
16of eminent domain, necessary or convenient for its said
17operations, including the storage of gas, all of which
18operations are hereby recognized and declared to be affected
19with a public interest and all of the property used in which
20operations is hereby recognized and declared to be devoted to
21public use.
