Bill Title: Amends the School Code. Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a school board may immediately suspend or terminate the employment of any person employed by a school district or contracted to work for a school district who has been convicted of a sex offense; defines "sex offense". Effective immediately.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5 | 10-20.69 and 34-18.61 as follows:

6 | (105 ILCS 5/10-20.69 new) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 10-20.69. Employee suspension or termination; sex | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8 | offense. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9 | contrary, a school board may immediately suspend or terminate | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10 | the employment of any person employed by a school district or | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11 | contracted to work for a school district who has been convicted | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12 | of a sex offense, as defined under Section 2 of the Sex | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13 | Offender Registration Act.
