Summary

Proposes to amend the Suffrage and Elections Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that no person shall be elected to the Senate for more than 3 consecutive terms and that no person shall be elected to the House of Representatives for more than 5 consecutive terms; provides for staggered applicability to Legislative and Representative Districts. Provides that no person shall be elected to the same Executive Branch office for more than 3 consecutive terms. Provides that elected bodies in any unit of local government or school district shall have the authority to implement term limits for all elected or appointed officials within that unit of local government or school district. Provides that judges shall have the authority to implement term limits for any elected judge. Effective upon being declared adopted.
