H.F. 635 Section 1. Section 149.3, subsection 4, Code 2023, is 1 amended by striking the subsection and inserting in lieu 2 thereof the following: 3 4. a. For an applicant who graduates from a school of 4 podiatry on or after January 1, 1995, have successfully 5 completed a residency approved by the council on podiatric 6 medical education as determined by the board by rule, except 7 as provided in paragraph “b” . 8 b. (1) For an applicant who graduates from a school of 9 podiatry on or after January 1, 2013, present evidence that the 10 applicant has successfully completed two years of a residency 11 approved by the council on podiatric medical education. 12 (2) As part of the initial license renewal, a licensee 13 pursuant to this paragraph shall provide documentation showing 14 completion of a residency program approved by the council on 15 podiatric medical education. The board shall not renew or 16 reactivate the license of a licensee licensed pursuant to 17 this paragraph if the licensee does not provide documentation 18 showing completion of a residency program approved by the 19 council on podiatric medical education. 20 -1- HF 635 (3) 90 ss/rh/md 1/ 1
