Minors’
use
of
tanning

devices
prohibited.

A
tanning
facility
shall
not
allow
a
person
under
sixteen

years
of
age
to
use
a
tanning
device.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
tanning
facilities
and
creates
new
Code
8
section
136D.3A
prohibiting
a
tanning
facility
from
allowing
a
9
person
under
16
years
of
age
to
use
a
tanning
device.
10
A
person
who
violates
the
bill
is
subject
to
a
civil
11
penalty
not
to
exceed
$1,000
and
an
injunction
restraining
any
12
violation.
