A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to health.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 149A, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§149A- Use of glyphosate prohibited. No product containing any amount of glyphosate shall be sold, transferred, distributed, or used within the State."
SECTION 2. Section 149A-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended adding a new definition to be appropriately inserted and to read as follows:
""Glyphosate" means a synthetic compound that is a non-selective systemic herbicide, also known as N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine with a chemical formula of C3H8NO5P."
SECTION 3. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
