A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

relating to education.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 302A, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§302A-     Geographic school attendance areas; public hearing.  The board shall hold a public hearing when a new geographic attendance school area is created or it is determined that school redistricting is required.  The public hearing shall be held in the affected school complex area and shall be conducted in accordance with chapter 92."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
