A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to Enhanced 911 services.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 138-1, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending the definition of "public safety agency" to read as follows:

     ""Public safety agency" means a functional division of [a governmental entity] the State or county that provides or has authority to provide[,] firefighting, law enforcement, ambulance, medical, or other emergency services or a private entity contracted by a [governmental entity] state or county agency that provides[,] firefighting, law enforcement, ambulance, medical, or other emergency services."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
