STATE OF HAWAII

A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO CAMPAIGN SPENDING.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Section 11-301, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:

"[[]§11-301[]] Purpose. The purpose of this part is to provide transparency in the campaign finance process. Any ambiguity in [~~the provisions of~~] this part shall be construed to support transparency."

SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
