HOUSE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

 

 

REQUESTING THE CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU TO increase the parking capacity of THE ONEULA BEACH PARK parking lot AND TO CONSTRUCT A KITCHEN RINSE-OUT facility at the beach park.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, Oneula Beach Park is a popular beach park located in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, that provides recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike; and

 

WHEREAS, the neighborhood surrounding Oneula Beach Park has experienced significant growth in recent years, resulting in increased use of the park and its facilities; and

 

WHEREAS, the existing parking lot at Oneula Beach Park is not sufficient to accommodate the increased use of the park, leading to overcrowding and safety concerns; and

 

WHEREAS, there is currently no environmentally safe facility at Oneula Beach Park for users to rinse out food equipment after use, which can lead to contamination of the park grounds and its waters; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2023, the Senate concurring, that the City and County of Honolulu is requested to increase the parking capacity of the Oneula Beach Park parking lot to address the increased use of the park due to the growth of the surrounding neighborhood; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City and County of Honolulu is requested to construct a kitchen facility at Oneula Beach Park to provide an environmentally safe facility for park users to rinse out food equipment; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, Chairperson of the Honolulu City Council, and Director of Parks and Recreation for the City and County of Honolulu.
